How to apply press-on nails so they last
Wash and dry your hands, push back the cuticles, buff the shine off each nail and wipe it with alcohol. Choose the size that covers each nail from side wall to side wall. Put a thin layer of glue on your nail, press the press-on on from the cuticle down and hold for 20 to 30 seconds. With glue, press-ons last one to three weeks; with tabs, a few days.
What do you need?
Everything you need is in the box: the nails in 12 sizes, nail glue, adhesive tabs, a mini file, a cuticle stick and an alcohol pad. Add a towel, good light and about fifteen minutes.
How do you prepare your nails?
Glue bonds to clean, dry keratin. Oil, lotion and water weaken the bond, so prep is where wear time is decided. Wash your hands, dry them well and push the cuticles back gently with the stick. Dermatologists advise leaving the cuticle itself in place, because it protects the nail and the skin from infection1.

How do you find the right size?

How to apply press-on nails, step by step
- Line up the ten nails in order, thumb to little finger, for each hand.
- Put a thin layer of glue on your own nail and a small drop on the inside of the press-on.
- Place the press-on at a slight angle against the cuticle line and lower it onto the nail.
- Press firmly for 20 to 30 seconds, with extra pressure at the sides.
- Wipe away any glue on the skin straight away.
- File the length and shape if you want them shorter.
- Keep your hands out of hot water for the first hour while the glue sets.
Glue or tabs: which should you use?
